This course covers the interface of economy and politics in domestic context.  Both the liberal and the Marxist traditions in the study of political economy are covered.

This course focuses on enhancing students’ understanding of the complex nature of Caribbean societies, the impact of development from a political viewpoint and how the policies utilised will change and structure development.  Further emphasis will be placed on the historical and current theorizing and concepts that have helped to shape the region and the world at large.

This course aims at providing students with the broader Perspectives on political systems and thoughts through readings in political classics.

This course presents an historical overview of the development of political systems in the world.  A special emphasis is given to the evolution of democratic traditions and their diverse paths of institutionalisation.

This course provides an assessment of the forces underlying conflict and co-operation in the international system.  The focus is on specific problems and the foreign policies of the major powers.
