This is a practical course in basic metal working skills, which introduces students to hand tools, soldering, basic bench work skills, sheet metal work, drilling, and basic lathing operations.

This is an introduction to computer numerical control machining. We will focus on basic programming for CNC lathes and milling machines

This course is a continuation of Mechanical Engineering Theory 1. and  provides a more in depth study of lathe operations, introduction to the shaping processes, fastening and joining as well as the theory of cutting tools.

Power transmission systems and bearings are integral components to modern industrial operations. This course permits students to build on the introductory knowledge gain from Plant Maintenance Theory1 by focusing on the more common Power Transmission systems presently employed in industry. It also exposes the student to various types of bearings and they applications. The target group of this course is those persons who are interesting in pursuing a career as a mechanical fitter.
