This course is designed to examine the psychological, social, economic and political factors involved in the study of health and health behaviours of individuals, groups, communities and society as a whole.  Essential to this course is the development of the student’s abilities for critical analysis and creative thinking, in order to facilitate their understanding of individual’s needs to health care.

Emphasis will be placed on examining the psycho-social aspects of health and students will be encouraged to explore some of the political and economic factors involved in health and health behaviours.
