This course examines the study of behaviour and the factors that determine behaviour. It will introduce students to a relationship between biological factors in the development of personality and human learning and behaviour. Students will be encouraged to explore the structure and dynamics of personality from several theoretical perspectives. Abnormal behaviour and the dynamics of social interaction will be examined. Particular attention will be focused on developing the student’s ability to apply psychological principles to the study of health and illness. The main aim is to familiarize students with principles and theories governing human behaviour so that they may increase understanding of their behaviour and that of the individual, groups, clients and society as a whole.
