This course is designed to extract the practical application from the theoretical modules and relate these to the practice of Community Mental Health nursing.  It will enable students to integrate theory and practice thereby facilitating narrowing of the theory-practice gap.  The focus of this course will be as follows:

Community Health Nursing, Social Psychology, The Human Life Span – Development Adaptation and Change I.  Childhood and Adolescence, Interpersonal Relationships and Counselling, Adult Learning, Health Promotion and Applied Research Methodology.  In addition, the course will address other topics related to Community Mental Health Nursing practice.
