This course provides instruction in structural and grammatical language skills for non-native speakers of English. Though students are evaluated primarily through written tests and assignments, emphasis is placed on the development of oral proficiency. The course is designed to bring Intermediate-level students to the Upper Intermediate level i.e. from B2 to C1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).
Upon completion, students will demonstrate an improved oral and written command of the English language, content-specific vocabulary and skills, and cultural knowledge in the topic area.
