This course is designed to equip students with the basic skills needed to capture and produce photographs for today’s media environment. The course focuses on the basic principles of photography, and students will be instructed in the fundamental theory and practice of photography such as the meanings of various photographic terms, the functions of the main parts of the camera, composition, utilising light, photofinishing and printing. Students will learn how to process and manipulate images in a digital environment using photo editing software. Students will be required to have their own camera with a minimum resolution of 5 megapixels.
