This course examines the different types of political cultures, structures and processes in selected countries (e.g. USA, Britain, China, Brazil and Nigeria). Students are guided in a comparative analysis of countries' political institutions to become familiar with differences and similarities in policy formulation and implementation. Students also examine the political socialisation of citizens and participation in political processes and systems. Current global political issues and peculiarities of Caribbean political culture and systems and those of other countries and regions, are examined, enabling students to appreciate uniqueness and commonalities in governments worldwide.
