This course emphasizes the interrelationship between the Environmental Health Discipline and the Community Health Services by using health education, promotion, conducting health surveys and developing programmes to meet long and short-term community needs. It provides a broad overview of the philosophy, goals, mission, scope and principles of Health Education, Health Promotion and the behavioral science theories and models, which underpin the theory and practice of Health Education and Health Promotion.  It is also designed to give the students insights and practical skills in the health educational aspects of programmes and activities so that they can facilitate the promotion, improvement and maintenance of the health and development of individuals, groups and communities, and experience professional and personal growth.
