This course entails an in-depth study of the immunological defense mechanisms of the body. Students explore the theories and concepts of immunology as these relate to the antigens and the formation of antibodies in an immune response. The role of the complement system and the serological techniques used in the laboratory to determine an abnormal state are also examined.
