Pharmaceutics applies fundamental principles and basic science knowledge to drug formulation. Students learn about drug development, production and administration of safe, effective and reliable drug delivery systems. These systems range in sophistication from solutions to bio-erodible implants and other forms of controlled drug delivery. The primary goal is to provide the student with a basic understanding of and experience in handling common dosage forms. Students will also develop expertise in compounding dosage forms in conjunction with their lectures.
