This course is an introduction to the health care industry, governmental and voluntary care organizations in health care. It provides the student with a description of the various medical and paramedical fields and also the history of medicine and medical records and gives an introduction to Medical Records administration and the development and content of the hospital medical record. The format and content of the medical record in ambulatory care, long term care and rehabilitation facilities are also discussed.
