This course guides the student through the changes experienced by a woman as she progresses through pregnancy. It provides knowledge and understanding required for management of the mother and child in the antenatal period, pregnancy, delivery and in post-partum. The course also examines relevant statistics and clarifies the family planning function and patient rights. Practice of the skills related to the theory treated in this course will be provided in the associated clinical attachments.
