This course is an intensive exploration of the fundamental principles of graphic design, with an emphasis on the creative process. Students will investigate the use of shape, colour, hierarchy, word/image relationships and typography as communication tools and will begin to manipulate these tools to visually express information and ideas. The course is a working studio class and through demonstrations and hands-on work, students will learn to solve vital communication design problems.

This course allows the student to explore the design and production of a variety of two-dimensional printed matter and examine materials and processes as they relate to the manipulation of forms for packaging, publishing and campaigning. Emphasis is placed on conceptual thinking complemented with highly experimental aesthetics. The student becomes a multifaceted designer.
Students explore the possibilities of innovative graphic design through highly structured, disciplined projects in order to cultivate concept development, aesthetics and techniques. Students participate in live projects to gain experience in the design process.
The student undertakes a series of projects supervised by their advisors. There is emphasis on research methods, a major project and a general portfolio of work to prepare the student for the world of work. Students employ the research and writing skills taught and practiced in Year Two of the BFA (Graphic Design) programme with emphasis on independent and imaginative research analysis.
This course is designed to expose students to the practical aspects involved in the diagnosis of abnormal blood conditions by way of microscopy, red, white blood cells and platelet estimation, specific enzymes testing and electrophoresis.

This course offers both theoretical knowledge and practical skills in hairdressing. It covers topics such as hair and scalp analysis, diagnosis and corrective treatment, shampooing techniques, conditioning treatments, and hairstyling with various salon products. Students will have the opportunity to practice on clients under clinical conditions, developing their skills and customer care. The course also focuses on improving job presentation skills and creative talents in hairdressing, as well as attention to detail. Participants can use the skills learned in this course for self-employment or entry-level positions in hairdressing. Additionally, they can pursue assessments for some units in the Caribbean Vocational Qualification related to cosmetology.

This is a course in the theory and practice of Hairdressing. It introduces students to the analysis, diagnosis and corrective treatment of hair and scalp conditions, shampoo procedures, the selection of shampoos for specific conditions and finishing techniques in hair-styling using a variety of salon products.
