Understanding Research for Public Sector Document Preparation is one module in the course Public Service Document Preparation.
Target group: Administrative Officers and officers of related grades who are required to prepare public service documents on behalf of their respective ministries/departments.
Aim: To further equip administrative officers and those working in a similar capacity with the knowledge and skills to be more effective in conducting necessary research.
Delivery: This course is delivered fully online and is self-directed with no facilitator interaction.
This course investigates the concept of culture and its use as an analytical tool in the study of society. It also examines how culture and other biological and psychological factors shape the personality and behaviour of individuals and how these in turn impact on society.
This foundational course focuses on the nature of sociology, career options for students of sociology, the use of the sociological perspective in everyday life and the study of the world around while introducing the student to the various theoretical perspectives, which guide sociological research and analysis.
This course will seek to answer the question ‘What is History?’ through an introduction to a Philosophy of History and its Methods of Operation. It emphasizes basic reasons for the importance of History including the profound lessons to be learnt from the past.
This course is designed to lay the groundwork for the commencement of Legal Studies through the examination of Legal theorists and the various definitions of Law. The development of Law and its many sources is also a focus of this course and an awareness of the function of Law in society as opposed to moral rules is provided.

An examination of the Constitution as the role it plays in the legal system is also obtained. It will also identify the various Constitutional Rights and Civil Liberties of citizens and how these are protected. The Judiciary as a main canon of Constitutional Law is also examined.
