COMP-1723, Web Apps, EL2M, 2019-20

This course introduces server-side website design and development using the JavaScript web framework MeteorJS written using Node.js, how to create a centralized data storage using the service MongoDB (a document-oriented NoSQL database) and how to deploy your web application to service providers such as Heroku. This web framework produces cross-platform (Android, iOS & Web) code. An understanding of JavaScript, jQuery, Twitter Bootstrap, HTML5 and CSS3 is necessary. Students will be familiarized with JavaScript (the programming language of HTML and the Web) utilizing it as a server-side and a client-side scripting language for rapid prototyping in the production of web applications.
