SICSin and nurtured by participation in Movement in general, and Sport in particular. The course explores the major theoretical bases of the study of sociology. It submits the current issues in human interaction, socialization and desocialization processes, collective behaviour and poilitics to analysis within the Barbadian context. Social Aspects of Sport also emphasizes the application of the theoretical perspectives to the study of various sport-related phenomena.
This course focuses on understanding the complex nature of social change, the impact of the developed societies on the developing world and the effect of these on social development and policy choices. Emphasis will be placed on historic and current debates on development.
This course studies the major social institutions in the society, their cultural, structural and ecological characteristics and how these affect the behaviour of individuals. It also examines the complex relationship between institutions and the nature, distribution and use of power in them.

This course is designed to establish a foundation in Social Psychology so that students can explore how people understand and interact with each other. It will review the theories, concepts, and principles of Social Psychology and enable students to analyse and critically evaluate their relevance to human experience. The course will assist students to integrate knowledge of Social Psychology into the practice.
