Trident Learning

The philosophy, trends, issues and practice of curriculum development particularly in technical and applied education, will be the focus of this course.  The course is also concerned with examining contemporary curricula designs and providing practical guidelines for developing quality technical and applied curricula.

This course is designed to introduce participants to the concept of design and to the elements and principles of design and to apply these to the process of product research and development. The course aims to stimulate creative thinking in participants and to provide them with the skills necessary for solving problems encountered. The course is also important in light of current emphasis in secondary schools and further afield on developing competency in the identification of problems, examining multiple design solutions to the problems, selecting and modelling solutions, and developing the solutions.
