Contemporary working practices require accurate drawings that can be easily reproduced to guide planning and development. This course therefore introduces the student to basic Computer Aided drafting(CAD) techniques and provides a foundation for higher level and more diverse forms of CAD which will be necessary for gaining entry-level employment in drafting environments. Students will learn how to manipulate elements of the computer software(AutoCAD) to produce form simple to complex two-dimensional drawings.

This course focuses on two Microsoft applications – word processing and power point. It introduces students to computer technology that is used to create, manipulate, save and print a variety of text materials. Building on this background, it enhances student skills in presenting graphics, specifically the use of power point.

COURSE DESCRIPTION
From this course, the student will develop their skills in the application of productive and design software by using word processing software to create common documents, to produce properly structured and formatted business documents and using spreadsheet software to perform a variety of financial tasks The areas of ICT and their application to industry will also be studied.
