An examination is also made of the legal basis of businesses such as partnerships and companies. The legality of negotiable instruments is also explored as well as issues relating to VAT.

This course provides students with a comprehensive understanding of the law as it relates to criminal activity by outlining the main ingredients of a crime and identifying actions regarded as crimes as opposed to moral wrongs. An understanding is also provided of the crimes of strict and vicarious liability as well as defenses available in law.

This course is a follow-up to EDWG 161. It introduces students to design concepts and their application to a variety of fasteners and other mechanisms. Topics include fasteners, bearings, and interpenetration and surface development gears. Basic engineering materials and computer aided drawing and design are introduced.

Commencing with the drawing of basic shapes, this course introduces 2-D modeling but emphasis is on familiarization of the software package.
