This course gives an overview of International Organisations and International Trade and aims to develop proficiency in written communication with emphasis on translation and summary techniques.

This course facilitates the further development of aural and reading comprehension skills using material from varied sources on topics related to the culture of the languages being studied.  Emphasis will be placed on the reinforcement of language structures, vocabulary and idiom.

This course will train students to identify and analyse, in Spanish, specific literary genres and their related backgrounds through studying and researching selected extracts from representative works. Emphasis will be placed on the development of skills in critical thinking.

This course allows students to begin an in-depth study of a second text related to a specific theme. Using the target language, they will read and abalyse the text, and identidfy and critique the sociological, psychological and other features used in the exposition of the specific theme.

:  This course reviews and builds upon language and oral skills previously acquired to ensure a good foundation before undertaking the more specialized aspects of the Business and Tourism Programme.  Emphasis is placed on the development and reinforcement of oral proficiency, in the target language, in matters of personal interest and in familiar situations in contexts relevant both to countries of the target language and the Caribbean.

This course further develops, in the target language, oral skills for communication in the various sectors of the Hospitality/Tourism Industry.  The course also includes a fieldwork component in tour guiding.

This course prepares students for accurate writing of the  target language using materials from varied sources on topics of interest of young people. Intensive practice in appropriate manipulation of the language structures, vocabulary and idiom is an essential feature of this course. Emphasis will be placed on the reinforcemeny of the structures, vocabulary and idiom used in FRNH 160.

THis is a follow-up game to FRNH 171. It exposes students to more complex text on topical issues, helping them master a wider range of structures, vocabulary and idioms. It alos seeks to increase their skills in accuarely manipulating the target language through varied comprehension and written expression activities. This course also provides reinforcement for language and skills used in FRNH 220.
