This course will provide students with an introduction to more of the media and modalities other than massage and exercise therapy used by Physiotherapists. Emphasis will be placed on thermal and electrical agents including superficial thermotherapy, cryotherapy, ultrasound, transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS), short wave diathermy (SWD) and faradic currents.
Students will also be introduced to the medical science and physiotherapy management of selected clinical orthopaedic problems.

This course is designed to expose students to the theories in the development of the human being from conception through childhood to late adulthood. Students will examine the changes associated with the development in each stage of growth and the effect on the behavioural patterns in humans. Emphasis will be place on the physical, cognitive, social and emotional developmental changes occurring from the birth of the child through the lifespan to death and dying.

This course facilitates the further development of aural and reading comprehension skills through a variety of exercises.
It is designed to enable students to:
• Continue to develop linguistic skills via brief written assignments and contextual grammatical exercises.
• Develop a wide vocabulary in Spanish.
• Develop skills needed to gather and organize information about culture.
• Think analytically and critically about many of the widely held beliefs related to cultural identity.
• Identify differences between Barbadian and Spanish language community behaviour in everyday circumstances with the potential to cause misunderstanding, embarrassment or offence.
