This course entails mathematics which the average individual is expected to encounter in life.
This course emphasizes techniques used to assist in the selection of assets and the most economical ways to finance asset acquisition. Cost of capital will be highlighted. Emphasis is placed on working capital management, as well as decisions for selecting sources of financing corporate activities. Corporate structure is investigated and dividend policy will be addressed. Corporate financial management is emphasised, in particular how the financial managers’ decisions add value to shareholder wealth through investment financing.
This course equips and familiarizes students with the tools and requirements of corporate governance to ensure compliance and instill confidence. It expands on the concepts and practices of corporate governance, including special emphasis on the corporation, stakeholders, the Board of Directors, rules and procedures, fundamental compliance issues, managing performance, and essential reporting mechanisms.
