This course is designed to expose students to specialized areas in financial accounting, as well as to give a more in-depth study of financial statements for different types of businesses. Students are equipped to prepare financial statements for partnerships and to make necessary adjustments to a partnership’s books to account for changes in agreement. Partnership dissolution will also be examined and different forms of amalgamations and take-overs will be considered. Cash flow analysis will be introduced and cash flow statements for all types of businesses will be prepared. Students will then be required to prepare final accounts for limited companies in a form that is suitable for publication.
