This course introduces students to the study of the complex nature of societies, the impact of development from a political viewpoint and how the policies utilized will change and structure development. Further emphasis will be placed on introducing students to the historical and current theorizing concepts that have helped to shape the region and the world at large.
This course introduces students to spreadsheet management techniques, including creating, modifying, and performing operations on a spreadsheet. Students will be introduced to aspects such as functions, charting and working with macros. It also introduces students to the fundamentals of keyboarding and typing skills. Students will be taught how to enter and manipulate data and to create, edit and perform other operations with documents.
This course is designed to provide an introduction to project management. It will introduce students to project management knowledge areas and to the process groups. It also introduces students to some issues that help to determine why projects succeed or fail. It provides practical lessons in project management. Students will use the software Microsoft Project 2000 to experience a practical approach to Information Technology Project Management.
This course examines the study of behaviour and the factors that determine behaviour. It will introduce students to a relationship between biological factors in the development of personality and human learning and behaviour. Students will be encouraged to explore the structure and dynamics of personality from several theoretical perspectives. Abnormal behaviour and the dynamics of social interaction will be examined. Particular attention will be focused on developing the student’s ability to apply psychological principles to the study of health and illness. The main aim is to familiarize students with principles and theories governing human behaviour so that they may increase understanding of their behaviour and that of the individual, groups, clients and society as a whole.

This course is designed to introduce the students to the field of Sport Management. Students will be made aware of the career options available in the Sport Management profession and learn about types of skills, abilities and knowledge required by sports managers in managing amateur or professional sport programmes, organizing events, marketing sporting goods or designing athletic or physical education programmes.
