This course develops proficiency, in the target language, both for aural interpretation and oral production. Emphasis is placed on critical and creative thinking and on in-depth exploration of communication through the media.
This course prepares students for accurate writing of the target language using materials from varied sources on topics of interest of young people. Intensive practice in appropriate manipulation of the language structures, vocabulary and idiom is an essential feature of this course. Emphasis will be placed on the reinforcemeny of the structures, vocabulary and idiom used in FRNH 160.
This course is a follow-up to FRNH 170. Emphasis will be placed on developing writing skills in accurately manipulating and paraphrasing the target language in reading comprehensions, summaries and essays. It alos seeks to increase their skills in accuarely manipulating the target language through varied comprehension and written expression activities. This course introduces students to the key management concepts and their application in the practice of health services. It will develop students’ understanding of operational management including; predicting flows and costs, time series analysis, econometric metric models, problem solving, querying theories; evaluating performance systems and models for matching performance to population needs. It will also familiarize student with the techniques to identify priorities for change and managing change by design and implementing feasible change programme and provide a compressive overview manage care principle objectives types and models.
This course provides students with knowledge of basic marketing principles. It explains what is marketing, discusses the marketing environment, micro and macro environment, managing marketing information, consumer behaviour, marketing strategies and mix, product development and the product life cycle, strategies, segmentation and target markets, pricing, the marketing channels and supply chain and finally the marketing plan.
